CHEESE:

Daiya Tapioca-Based Cheese

Daiya

Comes in mozzarella, cheddar, pepper jack…and they keep coming up with more flavors all the time! Also comes in a block-o’-cheese version in addition to shredded.

Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Soy-Based Cheese

Also comes in multiple flavors– I’ve seen mozzarella, cheddar, pepper jack, Monterey jack…

I believe they also have a shredded variety.

Just an FYI – The Almond Cheese you have listed as the first product is not Vegan, it contains Casein which is a milk protein.

Ingredient list: Almond Base: (Cascade Mountain Filtered Water, Crushed Organic Almonds), Casein (Milk Protein), Expeller-Pressed Canola Oil, Natural Flavorings, Organic Brown Rice Flour, Sodium & Calcium Phosphates, Sea Salt, Citric Acid, Carrageenan

Thanks so much for the update! I’m not sure how new this is, but this is something I started eating sometime last summer and I remember at that time, it was vegan. Removing from list now. Lesson learned; even if you’ve trusted a product for a long time, it’s important to keep checking the ingredients list regularly, as these things do change!

I remember how disappointed I was to learn that Green and Black, for example, which made vegan chocolate bars about five years ago, now has included milk and/or cream in many of those chocolate bars. WHY?

The good news is that, traitors like Lisanatti and Green and Black notwithstanding, there are still tons of yummy vegan subs out there! Please reply with your favorites, and check back regularly for more of ours!

    Happy New Year,

    Saryta
